Blessed Year 2005

Hi hi everyone... blessed new year !

God answered a couple of my questions (some arose during/after discussions with my friends) during the church services yesterday. I attended all 4 services yesterday. Hmm.. mostly pertaining to that of the recent tragedy that happened to Thailand, Phuket, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Maldives.

Question 1 : Why did God take away lifes ? This must be a punishment from God.

I feel this event had never been "Act of God" as what Pastor also preached yesterday. When something bad as such happens, everyone (sadly, sometimes even Christians themselves) blame God. Incorrect perception of God ? Well maybe, at least the God i know is not like that. In the bible, Jesus never appeared to be too busy to slow down and heal someone along His way or anyone who approaches Him for healing, for deliverance, for help, for anything. He loves us too much to ignore us !

Don't just follow the crowd or what the news tell us, read the bible yourself and discover God. My mummy always say, study hard and nobody can take those knowledge away from you, i'm sure it applies here too.

Question 2 : Ok, u say this is not of God's doing, then why does it happen ? So many people have died you know ?

Yes, lots of people have died, that i cannot and will not deny, but lots of people are saved too.. we only look at the "bad" side of this whole incident, but what about the "good" side. There are always 2 sides to a coin.

Like what Pastor said yesterday, we live in a fallen world where satan is in control, and yes, he is free to do what he wants, however, I strongly believe that God's hands and mercy is still upon the earth !

Pastor mentioned the verses in Psalm 104:5-9 (Psalm 104 = psalm for year 2004) yesterday during the 4th service when he receive it on the spot during preaching (that explains why he did not share in the other 3 services).

v5 - He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
v6 - You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
v7 - But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
v8 - they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.
v9 - You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.

See v7-9 especially, God rebuked and the waters fled, they took to flight, to the place that God assigned for them.. God set a BOUNDARY that they CANNOT CROSS !

When pastor shared this yesterday, i was really encouraged by it. I realized that i am so "deficient / improvisionalize" in God's words coz there are so many more truths and revelations in the bible that i have yet to discover. Thank God for anointing Pastor Prince, for Him to share with us so much about the bible and how much God loves us.

I strongly believe that this whole event, though may seem gloomy, upsetting and bleak for many people, it is still an event that is tampered with lots of God's mercy, which with not, casualties & death toll may even be higher.

God never plays "catching-up" ! He is the originator and creator of all things on earth. Just like in this event, it must be because the evil one "saw" that God is sending His huge waves of blessings towards us in Asia thus he in turn decides to have this giant earthquake and huge tidal waves to hit Asia as such.

Look at the bible, the evil one, when he notices that somehow there are some mass angelic movement in the sky (star) that he knows that somewhere a child (ie. Jesus) who will saved the world is born. Thus he caused Herod to pass an order that all children from the age 2 and below to be killed. The evil one is not all-knowing, he does not know where is the King & Saviour of the world was born, thus he had to resort to such means. Imagine the amount of pain and anguish he caused to the people at those times when their child is killed. Only God is all-knowing. Try not to think so "highly" of the devil. Our God is the ultimate winner !

No doubt that this whole event had brought much worries and much pain (especially for those who had lost their loved ones or even their own lifes), but look at the brighter side. Many countries are now coming together, joining hands, sending their rescue teams, sending food & water supplies to these places. Unity, a common vision.. if there's anything we can learn from this event, that's the word.

Let's move on, let's continue to expect GOOD from our mighty saviour. We may not know how or what or we may have lots of questions, but what we can confirm is that Jesus loves us and this whole event is NEVER EVER His intention.
