Eat slowly.
A meal is a gift, a source of pleasure, a time to relax and replenish. So why diminish the experience by scarfing it down like it may be your last? This may take some doing, but get into the habit of eating slowly. Chew deliberately and savor each bite. Take frequent pauses. Give your body a chance to accept and digest the food, rather than shock and overwhelm it. And try not to think about finishing fast so you can get to something else. This is what you want to be doing. So give each repast the enjoyment and sociality it deserves.
