06Feb08 - CNY eve
Left office at 1.30pm. Was a little upset as i particularly came back to office today to finish up some work only to realize that the system was not ready. Seems like time wasted but i still managed to clear up my workstation plus the filing cabinets next to me. Praise God ! All prepared for CNY now !
Had a simple reunion dinner at home. Went out with 2 friends (JW & PS) around 10.30pm. We were surprised to find many malay families having gatherings or simple chilling out at East Coast Park. Cool ! We then proceeded to T3 (Changi Airport Terminal 3) as my 2 friends had never been there before. Reached home close to 2am.
Very quickly, the first 4 days of CNY passed us by. What did you do during these 4 days ?
07Feb08 (Thurs)
Visited paternal side's relatives in early afternoon. Proceeded to maternal side's relatives after that. Took bus 143 home. Reached home at 10.45pm. Record - every year we will end up taking taxi home cos my dad will finish his mahjong game close to midnight, by that time it will be too late to catch even the last bus or train. But this year the mahjong game ended at 9.15pm. Miracle indeed. Hee hee..
08Feb08 (Fri)
Visited my uncle's place at Admiralty in the afternoon. Watched Stephen Chow's CNY movie, CJ7, at Woodlands, Causeway Point shopping centre. Decided to drive down instead of taking bus since the costs is almost equivalent, probably even cheaper to drive & park. As we were there early, we played at the Arcade. The car-racing game, Daytona, all time favourite. I even raced and was 1st in the race with 2 of my cousins ! First time... hahaha..
CJ7 was ok. Though not as funny as i expected. But still good as it was pretty touching on some parts. But i think the more touching thing is that all 14 cousins plus 2 of my aunties came along to watch the movie together. Its not everyday that we can manage to gather altogether for a movie show. Especially one of my cousin (CK) and his family (Q & E) will be moving to Hong Kong cos of his work. Will miss them (esp E cos she is so cute & very intelligent).

Spent the morning lazing at home. Afternoon met up with 3 of my friends to go another friend's house at Sunset way. Very nice place. Had a great sharing session plus plenty of good food (south africa marinated chicken thighs with peri-peri sauce, fried dried mee siam, curry chicken, sirloin steak, grapes, almond longan jelly & kueh lapis, not forgetting plenty of CNY tidbits ! Its really just eating and eating and eating... phew... I am not weighing myself !

Didnt go church today as i had to help my parents prepare food. My parents had opened our house and invited all my relatives to come over for makan. We had curry chicken (not the normal curry, this one had more spices in it), roasted duck, big pot of soup that has fishballs, quail eggs, button mushrooms, fish maw and vegetables in it, fried vegetables (kangkong+sambal chilli & another plate with black fungus, mushrooms etc). There were also some fried prawn balls, sotong balls, vegetarian balls and spring rolls. Dessert was almond longan tofu. Thank God the food was enough to feed everyone.
The adults played mahjong, cousins played cards (21 points & in between), 2 of my aunties and myself brought the 3 kids downstairs to play sparkles. A lot of smoke, but very fun !
Looking forward to our next gathering on Good Friday (21Mar08) at East Coast ! Picnic plus cycling... hee hee..
Ahhh... cycling ! I need a revision crash course before that ! hee hee
