Is this your exercise routine as well ?

I exercise everyday.

I SKIP responsibility, PUSH my luck and JUMP to conclusions !

&&%%&&%%

Cool isn't it ? Got this from a friend's msn nick.

Anywayz, presently playing a new game, Sudoku. It's a game based on logic and analysis, nothing to do with maths the least bit. To tell the truth, at the moment, I'm really not too good at this game. But I'm gonna persevere ! Jia-you !

Unwrapping presents

Sometimes I don’t like to unwrap presents. Not because I don’t want to see what’s inside (who doesn’t ?), rather because of the wrappings. Some presents are really so delicately and beautifully wrapped (you know, ribbons and all etc) that you really don’t bear to tear the wrappings just like that.

As I was tearing away at my Christmas presents recently, I had this thought : Hey, our Daddy God in heaven does not look at us based on our “wrappings” ie how we look on the outside, be it tall, short, fat or thin. Rather He cares about the insides of that present, beyond the “wrappings”. Our outward beauty or clothings don't impress Him in the least, He goes deeper than that !

Oh thank you Daddy God for accepting me and loving me just the way I am.

His Decorations

With less than 2 weeks to go, Chinese New Year is finally approaching. Exciting yar ? Can collect angbaos again ! Haha… not shy hor.. hee hee

Anyways, my office department had since put up the Chinese New Year decorations beginning of this month consisting of ang-baos, lanterns, fake firecrackers etc. Basically, the whole office is full of red, the auspicious color for Chinese New Year.

As I look at those decorations today, I suddenly realize that our decorations (no matter how much they cost or how good they look), can never ever compare with those of our Daddy God.

He made the sun to give us light so we can see the things around us and heat to keep us warm. He made the clouds that changes their shapes and sizes all day long. He gave us breezes to keep us cool. He gave us 4 seasons, with all the different colors to go with it. He made animals both on land and seas. He made you and me in His own image. He gave us tender hearts to love Him for all He had done and will do for us.

You gave us so much, thank you Daddy God. I love you too.

Daddy God's love is forever

Sometimes we cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel
But nothing is forever
Only Daddy God’s love is
It is darkest before dawn
So never give up
Hang on to Daddy God
Dawn will soon arrive

The Test

One night, 4 MBA students were boozing till late night and didn’t study for the test which was scheduled for the next day.

In the morning, they thought of a plan. They made themselves looked as dirty and weird as they could with grease and dirt.

They then went up to the dean and said that they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return, the tyre of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back and that they were in no condition to appear for the test.

Their dean was a just person so he told them that they could have the retest after 3 days. The students said they will be ready by that time.

On the third day, they appeared before the dean. The dean told them that this would be a special condition test. All 4 were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test.

They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days. The test consisted of 2 questions with a total of 100 marks.

Q1. Write down your names. (2 marks)
Q2. Which tyre burst ? (98 marks)

What's in your hands ?

Indeed, what’s in your hands my friends ?

Whatever we give to Daddy God, no matter how small it seems, He prospers
Whatever we give to Daddy God, no matter how little it may be, He multiplies
Whatever we give to Daddy God, no matter how natural it looks to you, they become supernatural.

Are you willing to give your all to Him ?

I’m giving Him my health, body, career, relationships/friendships, my all … how about you ?

Fins - Marina Square

I love to eat. I like to go different places to try different kinds of foods. Need not be a restaurant or high-class place, as long as the food is good, hawker centres or coffeeshops are fine too.

Today, my friends introduced me to this small little restaurant called, FINS, at Marina Square. They served fish & chips, calamari, pastas, and even fresh oysters !

My friends and I tried their fish & chips and calamari. The food was served quickly but that does not mean their food quality was not good. In fact, personally I like their calamari very much. The sotong used were fresh, batter was light, end result was very crunchy. Their chips were a little too big for my liking but thankfully they were fried to the way I like it, crunchy on the outside, soft and tender on the insides. Yummy ! The portions were quite large as well.

Oh yes, the prices were reasonable as well. We paid about S$10 per pax (including drinks). Do give your support for this restaurant yar ? The next time I will try out their fresh oysters and pastas (they have the squid black ink ones too that I wanna try, but not sure if my teeth will turn black after that ! hee hee).

Till my next eating adventure !

Psalm 113:3 - Give praises

"From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised." (Psalm 113:3)

Praise Daddy God in the morning. Praise Him at noon. Praise Him at night. Praise Him for everything ! May not be easy at times.. but still we praise Him. For He makes all things beautiful in His time. Let’s not give up, if there’s anything the devil cannot stand, it’s praise.

Don’t be afraid of the devil, he’ll be afraid of you !

Let’s keep praising Daddy God !

I choose to be a cheerful person !

Attended mid-week service just now. Wonderful message. Pastor shared something that caught my attention. It’s something about being angry with others.

Actually being angry with others takes up a lot of energy cos we use our brain cells to think and think about the person and the matter. The devil is very smart lor.. he will suddenly bring up to your remembrance all those other negative feelings or experiences you felt or had before with this same person, he makes you feel doubly angry or even “triply” (if there’s such a word) upset.

You don’t watch it, bitterness will grow in your heart against that person. Then you start ignoring or avoiding that person (esp. if you are the non-confrontational types) cos you think to yourself … why make yourself “suffer” by still putting yourself in that potential situation when you might be angry or upset again ?

Bible says, a merry (cheerful) heart is good medicine, but a broken (crushed, bitter) spirit dries up the bones (Prov 17:22). When you are angry, you will be in a bad temper and no one likes to go near someone like that ! As a result, you lose your peace and joy, you lose your friends, you lose your smiles (which you show so often previously), you become a “not-so easy” to get along person, everything around you gets on your nerves, you become easily irritated etc. In short, you lose more than you gain.

Worst of all.. being angry causes you to age faster. Medical science had proven that being constantly in an “angry mode” causes one to develop wrinkles faster, hair to grow whiter earlier etc. That’s not nice… after all our bodies aren’t designed to contain all those “anger”.

Hmm… thinking back, I was angry with someone this week too. But I’m going to commit that to Daddy God, telling Him the issue, how I felt, how I think that someone should feel (even though I know I cannot “influence” her in that sense). I choose to believe that Daddy God is handling this issue and all will be well. I will do my part, ie to keep myself in the tender mercies and lovingkindess of Daddy God, allowing His supernatural favor to embrace me everyday.

Thank you Daddy God for your timely reminder. I choose to be a cheerful person today !

How true it is...

Read this sentence in an article recently.. interesting.

没有人可以让我流泪,因为不值得,那个值得的人,舍不得

How true it is…

Recipe for a Happy New Year

Take twelve whole months. Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness, hate, and jealousy. Make them just as fresh and clean as possible.

Now cut each month into twenty-eight, thirty, or thirty-one different parts, but don't make up the whole batch at once.

Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients.

Mix well into each day one part of faith, one part of patience, one part of courage, and one part of work.

Add to each day, one part of hope, faithfulness, generosity, and kindness.

Blend with one part prayer, one part meditation, and one good deed.

Season the whole with a dash of good spirits, a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play and a cup of good humor.

Pour all of this into a vessel of love.

Cook thoroughly over radiant joy, garnish with a smile, and serve with quietness, unselfishness, and cheerfulness.

You're bound to have a Happy New Year.

What you learn, you keep

What u learn is what u keep.

Nobody can take it away from you.

Only obstacle is when you do not want to learn in the first place.

So go ahead, be brave, challenge yourself and pick up that new skill.

With Jesus in you, you'll make it !

Recent happenings

12 Dec 05 (Mon) - My office department celebration. Yes, very early for Christmas. Reason was to accommodate the managers who will be busy traveling on business trips or going on their annual leave after that. Ordered a small little buffet, turkey & ham from Prima Deli as well as a special surprise birthday cake for our department secretary whose birthday falls on 29 Dec 05 (she will be on her annual leave that day). Had a good time of makan and exchanging of presents.

21 Dec 05 (Wed) – Lunch with ex-boss at the Chinese restaurant at Jurong Country Club. Food was only so-so, nothing extraordinary and expensive. Boon Lay Raja restaurant at Jurong East Central (above NTUC) definitely serves much better food compared to them !

My ex-boss showed us her photographs taken during the recent charity marathon run organized by Standard Chartered Bank. She ran and completed the 10km track. Started training 2 months before the run and was glad to clock in at 1 hour 10 mins. Well done !

21 Dec 05 (Wed) – Steamboat dinner with 3 friends, followed by ice-cream at Ben & Jerry at Great World City. Great time of fellowship and sharing. Praise God.

23 Dec 05 (Fri) – Went out with 3 other friends to have dinner at Carl’s Junior (Suntec branch), then pool at Pool Fusion (actually I didn’t play pool cos I dunno how to, and so I played PHOTO HUNT with another girlfriend. We even made it to the top 10 with our points ! Praise God ! Hahaha…). After that we proceeded down to Holland Village, Coffee Club, for a drink. Another friend joined us a little past midnight. Great times..

24 Dec 05 (Sat) – Went with my sis, her boyfriend and friends to watch Chronicles of Narnia (movie) at Tiong Bahru Plaza. Great show. Recommend to you all. The bible is put across in such a simple, child-like way that is not difficult to miss. C.S. Lewis is indeed a talented author.

I particularly like the way the eldest brother arranged the sequence of the battle against the Ice Queen at the final battle in that big green field. He sent his “air-force” out by dropping big boulders on the enemies as they charged towards his armies who stood their grounds initially. Then followed by the arrows of fire shot towards the enemies at his younger brother’s commands who was stationed at the top of the hill behind him and his armies. I thought that was some awesome war tactics. Having lots of bull-strength doesn’t always work out yar ? Having God’s wisdom is definitely more beneficial.

Had dinner with sis and her boyfriend at a market in Bukit Merah. After that rushed home to watch Blessed Christmas, a joint Rock and Mediacorp production, at Channel 5, 8pm. Thank God we made it in time. Even got the show recorded. The glory of God and the real meaning of Christmas was indeed brought across the TV programs to all the different households in Singapore. Praise Jesus for giving us the wisdom to invent media & telecommunications etc.

Around 9pm, heard a group of people singing downstairs my block. When I went to take a look, realized that they were singing Christmas carols ! Wow… the song of their voices just spread across the whole carpark… and so many people were watching them through their kitchen windows, including us. Indeed, the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus.

25 Dec 05 (Sun) – Christmas Day ! I felt that Christmas this year is extra special & meaningful. Cos it fell exactly on a Sunday. And Sundays we attend church services. Lunch after that was a gathering with my ministry friends at the Chin Chin Chicken rice stall along Seah Street. Delicious !

Went off after lunch to my aunt’s place at Devonshire Road for our family Christmas gathering. My cousins bought 3 dwarf rabbits recently and they are so small… so cute… I’m really affectionate towards small stuffs you know ? Such as babies, or even accessories etc. Nope ! Insects and creepy crawlies are out ! hahaha… anywayz, had a good time playing with those rabbits, catching up with my cousins, and my 3 lovely nieces that are growing up so fast ! Of cos, not forgetting the foods… yummy !

26 Dec 05 (Mon) – Boxing Day ! Went karaoke at Lucky Chinatown with 7 other friends. It was fun as we find out each other’s singing prowess. Dinner was steamboat at Block 71 Seng Poh Road (near Tiong Bahru).

27 Dec 05 (Tues) – Slept in. Really worn out. Lunch with ministry friends, then went to help out in the church while the technicians, electricians etc were busy installing the new HD (High Definition) systems. Awesome ! You should really see those wires that are inserted and coiled behind the systems… I really have to bow and kow-tow to those people..they are real good ! I’ll probably be “entangled & buried” somewhere in those wires. Haha..

28 Dec 05 (Wed) – Came back to office in the morning and managed to settle some urgent stuffs. Afternoon went off to help out in church.

29 Dec 05 (Thurs) – Back to work (full-day). Nothing much happened. No bible-study tonight too. Attended a funeral wake of a friend’s mother at Singapore Casket. Pastor Lawrence shared a short message, to be absent in body is to be present with the Lord. Indeed I truly believe that my friend’s mum is now in a much better place. It’s not going to be easy for the family as they will surely miss the mum but still, i praise Him for His amazing strength and love for the family.

30 Dec 05 (Fri) – Worked again (full day). Had lunch with colleagues at Bukit Timah (Five Stars restaurant, same stretch of stalls along the place where we had fried chicken wings, mee-hoon goreng, milo dinosaur drinks etc after our badminton sessions the last time).

Thought could “fight” for half-day or early dismissal from work today, but alas, a Taiwan shipment had to go awry and we had to stay till 6pm (official dismissal time) to get the final confirmation that the shipment is on its way and that all things are in order before we could leave. Nonetheless, I thank God that He made all things happen by 6pm.

Went down to church to try on the new cameras, looked at the final installed system in the AV room. Though the cameras are much bigger and heavier, they are indeed more sharper compared to the previous ones. Only thing are the knobs that we had to get a little used to. Praise God.

31 Dec 05 (Sat) – Had karaoke (K-lunch) at Marina Square with sis & friend. Only cost S$11.10 per pax (11am to 2pm). Lunch provided was good too. After that we explored the newly renovated Marina Square. Rained heavily, but spirits were kept up, praise God. Had family dinner at coffeeshop opposite my block. Good food.

01 Jan 06 (Sun) – Woke up at 10am. Attended 3rd service in church, served 4th. Almost fainted halfway through the service as I saw dark patches. I panicked. Prayed to Daddy God. Then I remembered the 3 little clorets sweets I popped into my jeans pocket just before the service (thanks to Dancing Tomato !) Those sweets were my “life saver” at that moment. Praise God. Had dinner with friends after that and went home.

02 Jan 06 (Mon) – Went for another round of karaoke sessions with my friends. We sang from 2 to 7pm. Watched some live concerts renditions and wow…. Awesome ! I was like drizzling with my saliva when those few songs were over. Fully satisfied. Had steamboat dinner with 2 other friends after the karaoke. Fantastic.

That sums up all the celebrations, gatherings, food and fellowships I had with my family and friends for the month of Dec 2005 & early 2006. Simply R & R. No gyms… occasional swimming.
Come 2006, back to “normal”. I have a goal. Target is end Nov’06. So now its ganbatte !
