Somebody..

You are somebody !

You are God's property !

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God !

You are somebody !

Amen.

Vroom-vroom..

Dancing Tomato passed her driving test yesterday ! Congratulations my dear ! So happy for you ! Praise Jesus yar !? Like what Alwaysane says, must quickly go get the “triangle” plate !!!

Talk about heavy rain yesterday evening. There was heavy rain from 6pm onwards too. I was going to have my driving lesson from 7-8pm at Bukit Gombak. Seeing the heavy rain, I was asking God “Like that how ? Later must drive extra carefully lar (not that I drive recklessly on non-wet days lar.. hee hee.. coz I haven’t driven on a wet day before, so a little bit more anxious) God must help me ok ?” I heard this reply inside me, “Don’t worry, later I make the rain to become drizzle ok ? Just for you, my dear”. Aiyo… I thought I was imagining it…. Hahahaha…. But I know enough to know that the Holy Spirit does speak to us quietly on the inside of us. When 7pm came and I sat inside the car getting ready to drive off… the rain turned into a drizzle and soon it stopped ! Praise God really ! Jesus never fails ! And He remains faithful even when we have moved…

Did my first U-turn yesterday. Praise God… managed to get the car to turn nicely … I was hesitant as I think i cannot do it, i have no confidence... but my instructor say, “Can can, you can do it one”. Woah, i did, i really did ! Thank you Jesus !

I pray and claim my driving licence in Jesus name ! Do what is needed, then don’t worry about it, trusting God to work it out for me ! Thank you daddy !

Chinese Valentine's Day..

Finally, finally, Chinese Lunar New Year is over. Actually for most of us, I think CNY already “ended” when we are back to work.. hahaha.

Yesterday was also Chinese Valentine’s Day… so, anybody celebrated ? Hmmm….. interesting isn’t it ? The “ang-mo” valentine’s day, it was such a big hoo-ha… with the roses, candle-lights dinners etc etc, but its much “quieter” when it comes to the chinese valentine’s day. Our chinese roots ? Hmm.. anyway, there was once again fireworks at Marina Square (Esplanade) to celebrate the end of CNY. Fantastic display.

Had glutinous rice balls with peanuts and black sesame seeds for supper yesterday. I love glutinous rice balls. My family used to buy those flour (white and pink colour), then mix and roll them into balls (big or small, up to us.. hee hee) with some cane sugar inside for taste. Missed those times coz with the now those ready made ones available in supermarkets, we have stopped doing them on our own. But its definitely more convenient and you could cook and eat them anytime of the year instead of some special days only. I suppose the point is to gather everyone in the family to eat together...

Only one thing is needful..

Had a good and long chat with coco yesterday via msn. Was sharing about those things that we are worried about and encouraging one another to focus on the Lord, on His love and grace for us, rather than on ourselves, on our efforts and abilities which are so minimal.

Coco shared something that really struck me, she said “ Only one thing is needful, do what is needed, then don’t worry about it and trust God to work it out for us. Cos we are righteously blessed”.

Simple yet profound. I wrote the above sentence down and pasted it in front of my workstation. So everytime I worry or get anxious, I can look at it. Thank You Daddy..and thank you coco, for availing yourself to be God’s vessel to share the above with me.

A fine dinner..

Call me a “sua-ku” if you want… but I had a very good dinner yesterday. Actually it was kind of last minute as I was only informed about the dinner just before I went for my lunch. It was a dinner given by my Malaysia factory (we are their customer) and we went to this Chinese restaurant called “Hua Ting” at Orchard Hotel.

Heard of this restaurant ? Nope ? Neither did I...the food was delicately and meticulously done…tender and delicious…yummy…Okie, okie.. before everyone’s mouth start watering… hee hee… I shall stop.

The interior of the restaurant is more towards the zen look, simple and elegant. Ambience was good too… there is some soft soothing music playing in the background. Perhaps because it is such a high class restaurant, the patrons were also pretty quiet (well, everyone spoke gently). The service level is good too… however, when I had my 2nd dish, the spoon that was served together was not washed well, there was a thin slice of sping onion skin still stucked on it. Arrgghhh….. then when I had my 3rd dish, I noticed that the tip of the knife given to me had some stain on it ! Aiyo… why me leh ? Hahahaa….

Nonetheless, despite the above 2 little points, the restaurant still scored well in my books.. hahaha… hmm.. can consider this restaurant for my parents’ anniversary dinner this year. A special treat for them.

Oh of coz, being a business dinner, I had the opportunity to meet up (1st time) with our Malaysia counterparts. We had previously communicated via emails and phone calls. I also found out that the guy who sat next to me was a Christian, coz he said grace before he started on his first dish. Wow… not sure about the rest of them, but I do know that the company is blessed because of this one Christian !

Now that we have seen each others’ “faces”, I believe we would work even better with each other. Was told that my company might be organizing a trip to Malaysia to visit their factory too. Am looking forward to it already.

Right.. time to get back to my work now ! Ciao…

HE made it possible..

“IT IS FINISHED” (JOHN 19:30)
“PEACE BE WITH YOU” (JOHN 20:19)
“DO YOU LOVE ME ?” (JOHN 21:15)
“FOLLOW ME” (JOHN 21:19)

When I first saw the above slide, I was like wondering what is pastor going to share about ? When he finally did, I was really impressed.

Pastor shared something that was so-so-so-true (at least to me!). He said in many other churches, when new converts receive Christ, we were told to FOLLOW JESUS, to LOVE JESUS with all our heart, soul and mind. Then we will have GOD’S PEACE, and then IT WILL BE FINISHED. That was exactly what I went through. That probably explained why when I first attended New Creation Church (NCC) a few years back, I felt so liberated and awed at God’s love and goodness for me that I kept on coming every Sunday, shuttling between my ex-church and NCC. I remembered I used to rush to attend the 4th service as my ex-church service will end at around 3.30pm. I could not attend any earlier services as most Sunday mornings I had to serve in my ex-church’s church school. Finally after many months of such shuttling, I made up my mind to come over to NCC. It was a tough decision coz I “grew-up” in that church and there in just the building itself, contains so many sweet memories, not to mention the friends I have there. Nonetheless, memories is nothing compared to the liberation I felt as I listened to more and more of Pastor’s sharing.

So I say….. those of you who are “born again” in New Creation Church (NCC) are simply so blessed !!!

Now I know, we should follow God’s divine sequence as laid out in the bible. We acknowledge that IT IS FINISHED, Jesus had done the job for us, He died for us, for all our sins, diseases and anything bad… when we know that, we have GOD’S PEACE in us and coz we have a RIGHTEOUS GOD, He cannot punish us again for what He had already punished His Son, Jesus, for. With that assurance, we can then LOVE GOD with all our heart, soul and mind, therefore FOLLOW JESUS.

Everything is made possible because of Him. Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, we owed a debt we could not pay. How true this is….. Thank you for this revelation, Daddy.

Just hold on...

Had a battle of mental challenge this week. Not easy, had some “constant bombarding” from the evil one, almost on the verge of breaking down …. But thank God for friends like coco and rain and many others who stood by me… listened to my nonsense & blabberings. Much thanks my dear friends !

Can’t say I’ve “fully recovered” (does anyone “fully recover” in the first place ?), but I know I can (and I will in Jesus name !) go through all these difficult patches with Daddy’s help. Throughout this week, Daddy used all sorts of ways to remind me of His love for me, that He will remain faithful even when I have “abandoned/neglected” Him. (Sorry, Daddy, it’s me… not You. Thank you for forgiving me Daddy).

This is going to be an interesting walk… everyday we face challenges… but we know that our Daddy walks with us everyday too … so let’s hold on to His hands and walk together !

Inspiring..

We are born; no choice; we will die; no choice. What we do in the middle IS our choice.

Have you made the right choice ?

ZERO Point

Ever felt like you are in the lowest point of your life ? That “zero” point where your self-esteem was almost “non-existent” ? Zero point experiences…. you fight, struggle, cry, shout, scream..

1. I am the righteousness of God in Christ !
2. Jesus loves you just the way you are ! With all your faults and stupidity !
3. Don’t be too hard on yourself… love yourself more
4. Turn your eyes upon Jesus… when you cry, He cries with you… when you smile, He laughs with you
5. Jesus is always there, always there, He will never leave you nor forsake you
6. Listen to Pastor’s tapes, read His words, pray, ask for God’s help.. He is our “ever-ready” help in times of needs

AARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH……………… Ok ok.. cool down… tata

Happy Valentine's Day everyone !

I like valentine’s day. It is a day specially dedicated to all couples, married or not, an opportunity for both sexes to express their love and affection to someone they secretly admire or simply to appreciate one another.

I like to see the guy waiting for the gal at the mrt station on this day with a huge bunch of flowers waiting to surprise the gal when she arrives… I love to see the smiles on the faces of couples walking on the street … I love to see how my colleagues’ faces lit up and blush when they receive something on this special day from someone who loves them… I love to feel the love in the air all around me.

Nonetheless, valentine’s day is fast becoming more and more commercialized. Everyday can be a valentine’s day. A simple surprise during the “normal” days of the year may be more effective than a big bunch of expensive flowers, or a expensive dinner given on just 1 day of the year. I suppose if you decide to celebrate valentine's day TOMORROW instead, the prices of the flowers and the dinners at restaurants will drop... and it could be a more affordable affair afterall. Talk about beating the rush, the squeeze and the queues at restaurants ! hee hee....

Everyone in my office is distributing candies and chocolates to each other to celebrate valentine's day today... guess what ? I didn't bring any ! So i shall just be the "receiver"... hahaha..it's certainly more like "friendship day" in my office. But its fun....

I like to think of everyday as valentine’s day.. cos I know I have a daddy in heaven who loves me every single day of my life.. He drops me surprises here and there.. and they are all good… the flowers He gives me does not wither... the love He showers upon me does not stop… slow down, take a walk with Him and let Him romance you… hold Him by the hand, cuddle up to Him and feel His gentle arms wrap around you, hugging you too…whisper into His ears your deepest secrets and He hears you...cry when you want to and He wipes away your tears… this is my daddy in heaven.

Oh, and don’t forget to smile too… everyday is a valentine’s day when you have Jesus in your heart. Amen.

Tortured Husbands ?

Read a newspaper article this morning that brought a smile to me. For those of you who wants to read it, it’s on the last page of 07 Feb 05 LianHe WanBao.

The report says that there are about 4000 (if I did not remember the figure wrongly) husbands in Hong Kong that prefer to sleep in containers or other run-down places instead of in the comfort of their own homes. Why ? Reason being they are mostly being abused or nagged constantly by their wives when at home. Thus to avoid constant mental torture, they would rather spend the night outside then to “suffer” at home.

That reminds me of one of the verses that Pastor Prince mentioned in his series of messages entitled “Christ being the centre of marriages”.

Proverbs 21:9 (NKJV) – Better to dwell in the corner of a housetop, than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

The NIV (New International Version) says it even more clearly (hahaha).

Proverbs 21:9 (NIV) – Better to live on the corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.

+++++++++++++++++

Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Saviour.. (Eph 5:22-23 NIV)

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (Eph 5:25-28)

++++++++++++++++++

I rest my case. ;p

Father & son

I was at the bus stop waiting for my bus last Saturday and I saw a very young kid (probably 2 or 3 years old) with his father also waiting for their bus. Nothing spectacular about that father and son picture right ?

But what caught my attention was this : the kid tugged lightly his father’s shorts, his dather looked down at his son, smiled and then squat down to his son’s eye level and then lifted the son unto his lap and started talking softly to the son. The son leaned back, relaxed and laid his head upon the father’s shoulders and smiled a little.

This may sound really ordinary to most people, like we see such happenings all the time. Nonetheless, this presents itself to me a very simple example of God’s showering His love for us. He opened my eyes to see His love for me was just that simple trust I need to have upon Him. All I have to do is just to tug lightly at my daddy in heaven or even just cry out, a groan, a small little whisper or prayer to Him and He will come immediately to my rescue, with a huge smile, tenderly carry me in His arms and I can then relax, lean back on His bosom and His shoulders for support. Oh… so beautiful, isn’t it ?

Luke 11:11-13 – “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead ? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion ? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts o your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him !” (also see Matthew 7:9-11)

Coincidentally, when I reach the train station, while waiting for the train to come, I saw another father and son picture… This time, the son called the father, “Ba-ba, ba-ba..” many times and yet the father ignored the son and kept on talking to the mother (wife). I was really saddened when I saw that coz I feel the father should like at least turn to see why the son was calling for him. Aren’t he a wee bit concerned at all ? Maybe I am just too sensitive.

Thankfully our daddy in heaven is not like some of our earthly fathers, He comes to our aid sometimes even before we ourselves know we need help. He goes before us, lay the path and guide us gently. Let’s pray for our “lightning fast” minds that we will be sensitive enough to understand His tender heart for us.

Thank you daddy.

Office Politics ?

Can anyone tell me why must there be office politics ?

What is politics btw ? If someone do not quite see eye to eye with another, I think they should just talk it out instead of talking behind each other’s back correct ? That is not a difficult thing to do isn’t it ? Perhaps, it is difficult… especially in this world we live in, where we see people step and climb above one another to go for the top-most position.

I’m not joining this stepping and climbing exercise, am not in the least interested in it at all. I know I have a daddy in heaven who has good plans in store for me, every step of the way. Guide my every step daddy.

Healing Testimonies

These 2 testimonies are much delayed, but better late than never … so here goes…

Testimony 1
I went to gym with Alwaysane about 2 weeks ago. After that workout, I had a particular strange acute pain (not the normal muscle ache) on my left upper arm. Initially thought it will go off after a few days, but it did not. I tried applying some relaxing muscle cream on it but still it did not work. The pain was still there.

After about 5 days of pain, I suddenly remembered that I could pray to God for healing… (slow revelation isn’t it ?) I prayed and claimed that by His stripes, I am healed. Know what ? The pain was gone the next day and I did not even notice it until late in the afternoon ! Praise God for His faithfulness and mercy. He did not “neglect” me even though I should have called on Him much earlier for His healing.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1)

Testimony 2
This happened only last week. I did not feel well the whole week, probably due to insufficient rest. I woke up one morning with a sore throat. I was like “oh no ! I don’t want to take medicine !”

This time, I learnt my lesson, I prayed for healing immediately. For the whole afternoon that day, though I still feel the slight pain there in my throat, I kept on praying and claiming God’s healing on my throat. Praise God, the manifestation finally came the next morning where I woke up with a perfectly fine throat, no pain at all. Thank you Jesus.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well (Psalm 139:14)

Notice - MSN is mad !

The msn program in my office is getting mad… I dun seem to be receiving messages from my friends… I keep getting kicked out of msn, and when I try to re-log in, I am not able to do so… I had to restart the whole pc in order to be able to re-log in to msn… arrghhh…..

That by itself is not too big a problem, just probably need a little more time to re-log in. The more important thing is that I am missing messages from my friends and many of them are complaining that I didn’t reply their messages !! Let me clarify, not that I didn’t reply, I didn’t even receive your messages in the first place ! Arrghhh…. Know me well enough that I DO NOT ignore messages from my friends and I do reply fast !

For those of you who have been trying to get me via msn and I didn’t reply for a looonnggg time, high probability is that I didn’t receive your message at all… pls do try again after a while. Sorry...

So much for venting my frustration on msn out here. If you have any suggestions as to what I can do … pls do feel free to drop in any suggestions…. I really pray that this msn will be up, ok and running perfectly well just like before again. It’s been like that for close to 2 weeks now and it’s really getting on my nerves.

Sob sob….

If really urgent, sms me on my hand-phone (although my hand-phone is also giving me problems by receiving smses late… arrghhh….)

God, I need a new phone and I plead for your precious blood to be upon the msn program in my office pc. Amen.
