A simple act - Daddy God's love

This morning I saw one simple act through a young couple on the bus while on my way to work and was reminded of Daddy God’s love for me, for us.

Girl got on the bus.
“Teed” sound was heard as she tapped her ez-link card against the card-reader.
Boy got on the bus. Repeated same action.
No seats were available on the bus, thus both stood near the rear exit door.
Boy automatically took the wallet from girl and slipped it into his own pocket.

I think that’s sweet.
Yes, a simple act but speaks so much.

Imagine if love between human beings are already so beautiful, what about Daddy God’s love for each of us ? Yes, we do not see Daddy God physically (most of the time), but His love for each of us is definitely much more amazing and wonderful. Furthermore, He is GOD almighty you know ? And He is your Daddy !! Mai siao-siao manz… haha

Take for granted ?

Do we take it for granted that we will wake up tomorrow ? This question flashed through my brain as I was brushing my teeth this morning.

Choy, choy, choy ! How can you ask such questions ? Of cos we will wake up tomorrow ! We must be positive and look forward to each new day.

Hmm.. what if tomorrow I don’t wake up ? Then shouldn’t I spend my time today more wisely ? Speak more carefully ? Talk more to my parents and siblings ? Do my work more seriously ? Dress prettier ? I should ……. 1 should ……..Nah, not being negative or pessimistic here or expecting anything bad, just thinking aloud.

Only when you realize that life is short and the things or even people around you are just temporary (of cos for some of them you definitely want them to accompany you as long as possible), then perhaps you will appreciate them better. I do not want to wait till then to start appreciating or loving the people around me. I want to do my best each day. Some days I know I do fail miserably, but no condemnation yar ? Pick myself up and move on.

Tradition

How much does tradition affects us ? So much so that it even “frustrates” your act of filial piety ?

I heard this from one of my cousins. If she were to buy shoes for her mother, her mother has to give her a angbao. I asked her the reason for doing that (there has to be one right ?), she simply said, cos by doing so, she (ie the daughter) will be well.
Huh ?? I do not understand. To me, buying shoes or buying even ANYTHING for your parents or elders is an act of filial piety and all deserving for them. Why should they give you back a ang-bao (whatever the amount) for what you bought for them ? Actually, bible did say that we are to honor our parents so that our days will be long on this earth. But I don’t remember seeing another verse that says parents or elders are to give an angbao back (correct me if I am wrong pls).

Nonetheless, let’s not be stumbled by these kind of traditions, but use our hearts to minister our love for the loved ones around us, shall we ?

A naughty post.. or is it ?

When I take a long time, I am slow.
When my boss takes long time, he is thorough.

People who do no work... make no mistakes
People who make no mistakes... gets promoted
That's why I spend most of my time sending e-mails, updating blogs & playing games at work and I need a promotion.

夏川美惠

She’s a Japanese singer. Crisp, clear, and sweet voice is her strength. Beautiful melodious tunes are her songs recorded in her CD. Have you heard her CD advertisement on TV recently ? Everytime I see/hear (on radio) that advertisement, I will smile to myself. Why ? Cos I realized that I can also sing “Japanese” songs !

Qn : You can meh ? U mean u know how to speak Japanese language ah ?

Haha, actually I don’t. So what I do is I just sing in TONGUES ! I like the tunes, so I just use the tunes to sing in tongues.Hee hee.. not bad.

p/s : Tongues is a heavenly language where its direct access to Daddy God (ie. Jesus), a language that even the evil one cannot understand !

好幸福

最近生病了。咳嗽的非常厉害，好象是要把整个肺都咳出来了似的。晚上更是严重，都没睡好。看医生了，止咳药水喝了，却不见起色。有晚深夜里，全家都睡了，我又开始咳个不停。就当我坐在床上昏昏沉沉得不停咳嗽时，妈妈出现了。她手上拿着一罐Vicks药膏。她把药膏涂沫在我的额头，胸口，肩膀和背上。凉凉的，好舒服。我躺回床上没多久就睡着了。

又有一次我头痛，我很少头痛的，可是这次就痛的我连头都抬不起来了。没吃止痛药，因为不想靠药物来止痛。我妈妈又帮我擦了些驱风油在额头的两侧，然后催我去睡觉。起来的时候，头也不痛了。真是神奇。我想一定是妈妈伟大的母爱把那可恶的头痛给敢走了。

我觉得好幸福。有妈妈真好。有亲人真好。不可身在福中不知福。切记，切记。

其实我也会

会什么？撒娇啊！最近才发现其实我也会撒娇。什么吗，那不是每个女孩儿拿手(除了“眼泪”) 的把戏之一吗？或许吧。朋友都说我不会撒娇，照顾人比被照顾的时候还多。可能我身上“撒娇” 的基因比较低吧。哈哈。

努力想想，从小到大，印象较深的撒娇对象大概就只有祖母和父母吧。从小就被我祖母照顾，一直到上幼稚园(五岁) 才搬回家住。祖母非常疼我，常带我出门去逛街，买菜，陪我玩，听我说我的梦想。小时候的我已经有一大堆梦想了，军人啦，警察啦，歌星啦，护士啦，等等。结果我现在一个都不是，哈哈 。我们还养了两只小狗，取名为“红枣” 和“发菜” ，好奇怪的名字是吗？因为它们一只是褐色的(所以叫作“红枣”)，一只是黑色的(所以叫作“发菜”)。好可爱。但不久候，因地区不可饲养宠物或太麻烦了，祖母便把那两只狗给了其他亲戚。再来就是我父母啦！尤其是妈妈。她说我小时候虽然还挺懂事的，但偶尔也会对她撒撒娇。她甚至说有照片为证！哈哈。真可爱。

所以啊，其实我也会撒娇的。不过可能要看对象吧，不是对着每个人都会“散发” 出来的。哈哈。

A committment

As the lights came on stage, I suddenly had to urge to cry. In fact, those big round tears were fast ! I had to blink frantically in order to keep my eyes clear. Why ?

Standing there, I suddenly realize how much I wanted to serve Daddy God. When I had to be taken over last Sunday by my friend halfway through the service (I was coughing very badly and couldn’t concentrate), I was really upset. I’m definitely not blaming anyone here. It’s because i’m sick thus I could not serve Daddy God. So yesterday, when I stood up there on the platform once again, I made a commitment to Daddy God that I will take care of my body, which is the temple of God. I will rest when I feel the need to. I will obey the Holy Spirit inside me, even the small small reminders that I used to ignore. I want to be “used” as a instrument to minister His blessings to the people around me in whatever capacity I am put into. Thank you Daddy God for this reminder.

"LOST" - My Daddy God

While on my way home on the bus yesterday after Bible Study, I saw a TV program on TV Mobile. I think it’s the show called, “LOST”. Do you watch ? I don’t.

Anyways, there was one scene that caught my attention last night. It goes something like this :-

Man A & B having a discussion about their relationships with their family members
Man A : I could have just called my son on the phone and told him that I love him still…
Man B : Then why didn’t you do it ?
Man A : Cos I was weak….
Silence reigns as the 2 men look at each other for a second or two and then stare into space, deep in their own thoughts.

At this point of time, this sentence sounded in my heart, “It is when we are weak, then God can be strong”. When we acknowledge that we are weak, when we are nothing if not for Him and Him alone, then we become strong, not because of what we do or have done or even are going to do, but because Daddy God loves us and allows us to be His instruments to show forth His works.

He works through us and then He calls us faithful, when actually the strength or the ability to perform well comes from Him. Isn’t He marvellous ? Who in the world will give you the wisdom, strength and power to perform a task and yet give you all the reward that is actually NOT due to you ? Now, that’s my (and He can be yours too!) Daddy God.

Safe at home

This morning on my way to work, I saw 2 policemen patrolling inside the mrt train itself. They actually walked from one end of the train to the other end, looking at the passengers and keeping a lookout for any suspicious belongings or unattended items.

Suddenly thought of our country, though small, God really protected us. He gave us a very good government which rules our country well. Generally, it is safe to walk alone on the streets late at night or go home late (though not very advisable for ladies especially). I thank god for our government that they really took steps to ensure law and order and protection of her people in this country. God bless Singapore indeed.

Beyond the aXis of Truth 2

I have recently started watching the new show, “Beyond the aXis of Truth 2” now shown from Mondays to Fridays, channel 8, from 9-10pm.

Personally I do not watch local TV channels programs much. Usually, after work, I would be mostly watching either VCDs / DVDs or if I do watch local TV channels programs, it would most probably be Hong Kong or Taiwan serials. But this new show attracts me as the storyline leans a little more towards the detective kind, with pathologist, mysteries, questions marks, unsolved cases …. etc etc. I suppose the guessing part of “what’s next” or “why or what or how that can happen” stirs me on to watch this show.

Perhaps I too secretly have a lot of questions inside my brain that needs answers too.. hahaha… anyhow, if u are thinking of what to watch on weekday nights after work, this may be a good show to consider.

Another cute advertisement

I saw another interesting advertisement on TV this week. It was an advertisement for the new Panasonic refrigerator. Like the way they presented it with all the “vegetables” (tomato, capsicum,carrot and lettuce) jumping up and down. Innovative, and definitely drives home the point on the new feature of this brand of fridge series. Have u seen it yet ?

He knew us !

Recently, a friend of mine mentioned to me that in her church, many people know her and some even call her by her name, yet she sometimes cannot even remember that person’s face or name.

I’m glad that our Daddy God is not like that. He knew us a “long way back”, even before we were formed inside our mummy’s womb. And we were set apart for His Kingdom then already ! Thus, He always recognizes us and He is filled with delight every time He looks at us. That's good news!

Pretty girl - India

A young Indian girl’s brother is going away for work. As a sign of good luck, this young girl wanted to buy some birds to release in the air for her brother. However, she can only afford one bird. She looked disappointed, nonetheless, still bought that one bird and went off.

Richard Gere was there and saw what happened. He flashed his visa credit card at the bird seller and indicated his intention to buy all the birds on sale.

Later, when the young girl let go of the only bird she could afford to get for the brother, many other birds behind her were let go at the same time. Wow, what a beautiful sight ! Surprised, she turned around and saw Richard Gere, who being the gentleman in this advertisement, immediately turned away and act nonchalant.

What a good way to bless other people around you. We use money to “bless” people, not to “press” people down. Thank you Daddy God for this reminder.

日常生活里的小点滴

今天早上看到了我妈妈写的一张字条给我爸爸。内容如下: “钱拿了，谢谢。晚上俩个有回来吃饭。”

觉的那“谢谢”两个字好珍贵。有时越亲的家人或越要好的朋友就会更难把“谢谢”这两个字挂在嘴边。会觉的彼此的互动是理所当然的，应该的。其实不然。适当地尊敬(特别是在言语间) ，礼貌(好比行为举止上) 和体贴更是不可获缺。

人们常说，越了解你的人就会更伤你的心，你觉得呢？

打个比方: 我们常常以为他会了解我们的大脑到底在想什么，或要表达什么，可是当他不了解时，我们就生闷气，心想，为什么他不知道我在想什么呢？为什么他不试着了解呢？其实他们又不是我们肚子里的虺虫，那他怎么可能会知道呢？与其彼此猜忌，不如就说明白点，把心里面的感觉直接地告诉他，那会不会更好 ？这也可省下许多不必要的麻烦。当然我不反对偶尔的挑逗会让平淡的日子多添姿彩，但重要的就是要找到平衡吧。

让我们一起来学习如何更好的待人处事。越亲的家人或越要好的朋友更要懂得珍惜。

Thanks for sharing with me your awesome dream this morning (which is your night in USA). Daddy God sure knows how to encourage us in ways that He knows will touch our hearts. He is just so so gentle with each of us. Indeed no one knows what we need at that very moment better than Him. It sure feels good to know that He is on our side always no matter what.

All glory to you and you alone, Daddy God.

Praise God ! I am a new creation in Christ !

Last week’s mid-week service was so awesome. It touched my heart so much that tears were welling up almost constantly throughout the whole service. Was secretly glad that I was sitting among strangers… haha… Truly not exaggerating, it was as if Daddy God was speaking directly to me through Pastor’s preaching.

Pastor started talking about God’s favor on us all. His favor which is also His grace is all over us. Favor is unearned and unmerited. The only way to “disqualify” us from Daddy God’s favor is to earn, to merit, to work in order to deserve it.

In this world where we grow up in, we were taught to work hard to achieve that result we wanted, to get those medals or awards etc. So when we get that desired results, medal or award, we feel that we deserved it, cos we had worked hard for it. And if we want to continue to maintain that result or standard, we will have to continue to work hard, watch our backs to see if anyone’s “catching up” etc. All these causes us to be stressed up. But in the world of Daddy God, it does not work this way. His favor for us is free, we need not work hard for it. We are of the world, but not of the world.

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

So what are we ? We are new creations in Christ !

2 Corinthians 5:17-18
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation

What are the “old things” that have passed away then ?

Rev 21:2-7
2 Then I, John,saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me,“ Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

So the “old things” that had passed away are death, sorrow, crying and pain (see verse 4)

Fine, so the verse in 2 Corinthians continues as saying, “I have made all things new”.

What are the “new things” then ?

Old things = Death, Sorrow, Crying & Pain
New things = Life, Joy, Laughter & Pleasure

Pastor also shared about Psalm 107:1-3.

1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

Daddy God, thank you that I am a new creation, old things have passed away, old things such as death, sorrow, crying and pain are all gone and I receive the new things that have come, life, joy, laughter and pleasure. Thank you Daddy God that your favor is all over me and my family, it covers us all like a shield, protecting us from all harm. You are the captain of my life and you will guide and lead me in the ways of Your righteousness. Thank you Daddy God that I am redeemed by your precious blood. I am redeemed from the penalties of my sins cos You lovingly, graciously and willingly took all my punishments upon yourself on my behalf. I could never thank you enough Daddy God. Still…. Thank you Daddy God. In Jesus most precious name I pray, Amen.

Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path (Psalm 119:105)

Been noticing in many cars on the road recently that they have this GPS electronic tool in their cars, very pretty, round in shape, mostly brightly lighted. Know they may be modified ones, but still, they look marvelous near/on the dashboard.

I've found that God's Word is my searchlight and compass, pointing me in the right direction and illuminating my steps. The bible is somewhat like a GPS signal, sending precise signals from somewhere high above the earth, showing me where I am and where I need to be. It can also be related to a PDA (which most people have now) by keeping track of our appointments and sets reminders etc. The bible is also my prayer book as I pray using God’s words written in it. The bible never fails to comfort me when I am not feeling so “up” too. Let's keep reading the bible ! There are more treasures and nuggets of truth inside awaiting us !

Let's all be little children

I was on my way to church one day in the train and I saw a daddy with his 3 young kids (2 boys and 1 girl) in tow. I was actually expecting them to be talking loudly, asking lots of questions, fidgeting and all. Surprisingly, these 3 kids are super well-behaved and did not made a big din.

That set me thinking somehow.....little children rejoice at the little things, they trust easily, they love to the deepest and they laugh from the heart. When they are not happy for any reason with a friend for example, they will forget those unhappy stuffs quickly and soon they are friends with their “so-called enemies” again. They are not aware of themselves and self-pity has not kicked in yet in their minds. They simply talk with their parents about the issue and few seconds later the whole issue is forgotten.

Jesus said in the bible that we are to come to Him as little children. Not that we have to literally become little children, but rather, we are to approach His throne in confidence based on Jesus' blood. We open up to Him; we smile in His presence, we pour out all the stored things before Him and we ask Him to renew the attitude of little children in us.

Our past is in His Hands; leave it.
Our present is under His supervision; live it to the fullness in Jesus Christ.
Our future is secured in Jesus' blood; do not worry about it.
